Q: What age groups can participate in All-Star Cheer?
A: All-Star Cheer is available for athletes as young as three years old up to adults. Age divisions include Tiny (3-5 years), Mini (5-8 years), Youth (6-11 years), Junior (7-15 years), and Senior (11-18 years).

Teams & Training

Q: How are teams formed?
A: Teams are formed based on age and skill level through tryouts or evaluations. Athletes are placed on teams where they can best develop and contribute to a successful routine.

Q: What skills are required to join an All-Star Cheer team?
A: Requirements vary by level, but beginners start with basic tumbling (cartwheels, round-offs) and jumps. More advanced teams require skills like back handsprings, tucks, and complex stunts. Our gym proudly accepts children ranging from no experience to extremely experienced. All of our athletes make a team.

Q: How often do teams practice?
A: Most All-Star teams practice 2-3 times a week for 1.5 to 2.5 hours per session including tumbling sessions which are included in our cheer packages.

Competitions & Performances

Q: How often do teams compete?
A: Teams typically compete 4-10 times per season, depending on the team. Competitions range from local to national events. Our gym prides itself on being cost effective by staying local and regional.

Q: What are the different competition levels?
A: Flyt Athletics levels range from 1 to 4, with Level 1 focusing on fundamental skills and Level 4 featuring elite tumbling and stunts. Teams compete against others in their same age and skill division.

Q: What is All-star Cheerleading Worlds, and other major competitions?
A: The All-star Cheerleading Worlds is an end-of-season championship and the highest level of competition for elite Tiny to Senior teams. Other major events include Gold Rush, Cheermax Nationals, and various other prestigious events.

Costs & Commitment

Q: How much does All-Star Cheerleading cost?
A: Costs vary by team/level; please inquire with our Finance Department. Fees cover tuition, uniforms, competition fees, choreography, tumbling, and more.

Q: Is fundraising available to help with costs?
A: We offer fundraising opportunities or sponsorships to help offset costs all season.

Q: What is the time commitment like?
A: All-Star Cheer requires a significant time commitment, including practices, competitions, team bonding events, and sometimes community engagement.

Safety & Injuries

Q: Is All-Star Cheer safe?
A: Yes, when trained properly under experienced coaches. Teams follow safety guidelines, progressions, and techniques to minimize the risk of injuries.

Q: What happens if my child gets injured?
A: We have injury protocols, including rest, rehabilitation, and return-to-play evaluations. It’s important to communicate with coaches about any injuries.

Q: When are tryouts held?
A: Tryouts typically occur in late spring to early summer. If you miss our group tryouts dates you may inquire about a private evaluation to join our Flyt family.

Q: What should my child wear to tryouts?
A: Athletes should wear form-fitting athletic clothing, cheer shoes or athletic shoes, and have their hair secured back.
